Information for donations
What is Brick Club SA
Brick Club SA is a donation driven community initiative that brings play first activities to South African communities. We host free building sessions mainly in public libraries, with occasional Brick Club Experiences at daycares, children’s homes, and community centres. Children are the builders. Parents are welcome to be present and encourage them. Our duck mascot reflects our raise a village idea. Many small parts working together make something strong. Ducks are social, resilient, and intelligent. That spirit shapes how we welcome families and keep play simple, joyful, and free. Every Child, Every Brick, Every Possibility.
Where your donations go: Club Boxes
We wash and sort both new and used genuine LEGO® and pack them into Club Boxes issued to participating librarians. We choose libraries because they are safe and inclusive community hubs. In some areas they are among the few neutral safe spaces that everyone respects. Each Club Box can support about 20 to 40 children, depending on staffing. The same boxes are used by librarians or Club Leaders for ECD sessions, reading programs, holiday activities, and outreach. We also have homeschool groups and are piloting a neurodiversity group for 6 to 8 children where stimming and each child’s uniqueness are embraced in a welcoming environment. LEGO® is expensive. Many children know it but cannot access it. Librarians see wish lists that simply ask to play with real LEGO. Your donations help create new Club Boxes stocked with minifigures, baseplates, wheels, windows, and DUPLO® for younger builders. We issue these boxes as part of BCSA with monthly theme support, supply rotation, and guidance at no cost, so play stays free for families.
Brick Club SA is run entirely by volunteers and funded only by donations. Your contribution helps us expand as demand grows and supplies remain limited.
