Welcome back to another term of EDRO RoboCode. We hope your child had a wonderful and restful holiday and that they are ready to tackle the term with the gusto we know they have.

Module 2 Overview and Dates
Today we are kicking off the first lesson of Module 2 at Laerskool Jan van Riebeeck with a bang! In the second module, we are now eager and ready to dive deeper into computational logic. The focus of this module is on conditional statements – the programming logic of ‘if, then and else.” Problems worked on in this module involve participants integrating input from their robot’s sensors into their code. Examples of challenges faced in this module are ‘maze navigation with infrared proximity sensors’ and ‘programming a robot to avoid or seek out light.’ All work in this module continues to be done in a drag-and-drop style, reinforcing the confidence built in Module 1. We will be offering the lessons in the same format as last term, in the computer room from 14:30-15:45. The lessons will be running every Thursday from the 26th of July until the 20th of August.
Payment
Please note that the cost of the RoboCode module 2 going forward will be R950 for the term. We also offer a sibling discount and the total payable per term is R1500. If you would like to make a monthly payment arrangement, please let us know. We ask that payment is made upfront within the first 2 weeks of the term and therefore the deadline for this term is 06 August 2018. If you plan on discontinuing the programme, kindly advise us at the end of a given term and we will ensure that you do not receive attendance reminders and other correspondence.
